NACPM - URGENT CALL TO ACTION: Midwifery Education Funding

The National Association of Certified Professional Midwives (NACPM) recently shared the following action alert regarding federal funding for midwifery education. We are sharing the information below for those who may be interested.

Dear Midwifery Community,

Please take just two minutes before June 5th to contact your Members of Congress and urge them to protect the midwifery set-aside in the final FY 2027 Labor, HHS Appropriations Bill!

TAKE ACTION NOW

This funding isn’t just a line item; it’s a lifeline for the programs that educate and train the next generation of midwives who will serve families and communities across the country.

Accredited midwifery education programs support all nationally recognized midwifery credentials — Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs), Certified Midwives (CMs), and Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs). Without this funding, these programs and the expanded access to midwifery-led care they make possible are at risk.
