Student Midwife Job posting: Seeking Student Midwife in primary/assist/observe phase to work at Bend Birth Center in Bend, Oregon.

Time frame: As soon as possible and/or another opening in February 2026

We offer free housing for a single person (not enough space for spouse or

(children). Bend Birth Center (BBC) specializes in home birth and also has a beautiful birth center for clients who wish to have their baby in a facility other than home or hospital. BBC offers complete prenatal care for low-risk clients and babies, manages birth at home or at the birth center, offers home visits at 37-weeks, 24 hours, 3 day and 7 day postpartum plus complete care for mom and baby until 6-weeks postpartum.

Overview of the role: You will be involved in between 4-6 births per month on average. You will be asked to be in the clinic 3 days per week. Clinic hours are generally; Tuesday 9-2, Wednesday 3-7, Thursday 9-2. You will also be asked to participate in weekly chart-reviews after clinic on Wednesday evenings and. attend study groups 2 per month (timing is flexible). 

We allow pre-approved vacations and time off call. We will ask for a one year time commitment.

Job responsibilities:

● Manage and coordinate client care

● Review lab results and follow up with clients

● Perform administrative responsibilities including charting, preparing client referrals,     and managing files

● Attend office and home visits and lead visits when applicable

● Collaborate with local providers, doulas, and healthcare workers

Qualifications + Skill Requirements:

● Enrolled in an accredited Midwifery program

● Ability to provide two references we may contact

● Good communication skills; transparency and vulnerably

● Open mindset, ready to learn, and ability to process constructive feedback with humility and maturity

● Grounded energy and great sense of humor a plus
