Intimate Journey Birth & Wellness Center  is hiring Midwives!

Intimate Journey Birth & Wellness Center is a modern birth center in San Luis Obispo, CA, run by Erin Ashley, LM, CPM.  We are expanding and need a larger staff to meet the demands of expecting mothers in the Central California Coastal region. San Luis Obispo is a hidden gem of the West Coast, known by locals for its desirable Mediterranean climate and geography, low crime rate, and easy-going attitude. Our birth center is the only one of its kind in the area, and is currently in the process of becoming accredited with CABC by 2026.

The following positions are open with our practice:  Licensed Midwife

(The following positions will become available as needed:  Student, Birth Assistant.)

We are looking for the following candidate:

• Has completed a MEAC-accredited degree/certification

• Plans to pass the NARM examination in the immediate future

• Is willing to obtain a license to practice midwifery in California

• Lives by the motto:  "Work hard, play hard"

• Has the endurance and nerves to deliver a baby under any circumstances

• Possesses thorough knowledge of clinical midwifery skills

• Capable of effective interpersonal skills and calm, confident bedside manner

• Has ability to maintain medical records and charting

• Most importantly, has the desire to become the best midwife she possibly can be

What Intimate Journey Birth & Wellness offers YOU:

• Ability to grow into a highly accomplished professional midwife under our tutelage

• Competitive salary based on degree of experience (hourly rate for clinic hours and home visits, flat rate for deliveries)

• 2 clinic days, 1 office day, 1+ deliveries per week (on average)

• Guaranteed off-call time with completed service

• Your own office in a large birth center

• Rotating on-call time schedule to minimize burn-out and keep you fresh

• Potential to earn a higher than normal salary based on national averages
