Established in 2003, Labor of Love Birth Center in Lutz, Florida quickly grew to be a profitable business model and a much appreciated facility for the local and surrounding communities. Catching, on average, 155 babies each year, the Center serves Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Citrus & Hernando counties for both Birth Center and home birthing.
A 2700sq/ft, fully licensed facility, the Birth Center is comprised of an office/clinical space, where pre/post natal care is conducted 5 days a week. There are two, completely separate birth suites, each of which include a private bedroom, birth tub space, personal living room area, toilet/shower room and a kitchenette.
The second birth suite has an additional bedroom, which (very) occasionally is used for recovering post partum moms if both birthing suites have a laboring mom in.
The building itself is a 'Cracker Barrel' style, wooden building situated in a quiet business park with only 5 other buildings. It has a wrap around porch which is perfect for walking the babies out!
Lutz is an up and coming area just 14 miles/20 minutes from Downtown Tampa. Population growth in Tampa was 1.7% last year and is projected to grow 3.3% annually over the next few years. More than 126,000 new residents are forecast to move to the metropolitan area by 2024 ~ that's a LOT of baby potential!
