Student Steps to Access Curriculum, Syllabi, and Paperwork

Step 1

Visit Canvas and log in to download the didactic assessments, view the syllabi and access all paperwork needed throughout your academic program.

If you are currently enrolled you should have received an email on how to log on. If you did not receive an email please contact Clorinda in the office.

Step 2

All students should already be enrolled in the Student Orientation, Academic Block Registration, and the Digital Library. Take a look around and register for courses in your program's Academic Block Registration by following the simple instructions in each subject area. See our tips at the bottom of this page for more enjoyable interfacing with this system.

Step 3

(In the near future.)

Once you have received notification that NCM’s Online Learning Platform (OLP) is ready to permit grading you will complete and submit assignments online and your preceptor will grade them and provide you with feedback all in one simple, easy to access space.

Step 4

Enjoy this incredible new platform! Get engaged with the community within the Online Learning Platform; watch for and join NARM study groups, cases studies, tutoring, and other exciting growth within the platform.

Access as an Observer

NCM remains committed to making our educational material available to the community. For 29 years we have provided this service for free as a commitment to birth justice. Over the years we have worked tirelessly to provide affordable education to direct entry midwifery students but the reality is that costs have risen and we can no longer afford to offer this service at a loss; moving forward NCM will be charging non-enrolled students $80 per year to access our ASM/BSM courses. 100% of this fee goes into our scholarship fund.  For more information on how to become an "Observer" visit this page.

Tips Using NCM's Online Resource

Once you are registered for a course you will begin at the top of the page with the topic entitled "START HERE" and follow the instructions.

One great new feature is that the home page of each course divides the curriculum into suggested blocks of learning and assignments to complete each week throughout the trimester to stay on track with getting academic work done.

You will complete your assignments through our distance learning program with professors provided by NCM (with the exception of one BSM course). Assignments are submitted online. The Online Learning Coordinators (professors) will be providing a variety of teaching methods from recorded zoom instruction, assigned reading, case studies, discussions etc.

Registered but forgot where to log onto the Online Resource?
